FYS1000  FIRST YEAR SEMINAR  

This seminar prepares students for the academic, social, and professional demands of college. Through interdisciplinary challenges, collaborative assignments, and reflective practice, students develop strategies for academic and personal success, navigation of institutional and digital resources, and ethical and effective use of research, data, and AI. The course also emphasizes communication, teamwork, and planning skills, helping first year students build a strong sense of belonging and engagement while creating a four-year academic plan aligned with their goals.
