Climate Resilience (CRES)

CRES1000  BOSTON INSIGHTS  

This course provides students with a chance to explore Boston as an immersive case study for understanding the relationship between urban environments, technology, sustainability, and equity. Students learn how the city is run, its plans for the future, and how it is addressing current challenges. Through field trips and topics like environmental justice, sea level rise, housing, mobility, and green space, the course asks students to consider the question: What does it mean for a city to be resilient? CRES3000  TOPICS IN CLIMATE CHANGE AND URBAN RESILIENCE  

This course offers an interdisciplinary study of climate change and urban resilience. Case studies provide students with real-world examples of environmental adaptation and equitable resilience strategies. Topics vary and include local, global, and policy-oriented themes drawn from a range of disciplinary perspectives, including history, political science, urban studies, sociology, and economics. CRES5000  SENIOR PROJECT  

This course provides the opportunity for students to research, design, and implement interdisciplinary solutions to problems or scenarios related to urban climate resilience. Topics are chosen in consultation with the instructor. Projects are carried out in teams. Students are responsible for individual as well as group contributions. (4 credits) summer
